From my windy hilltop perch in Fife, I’ve had many a tale to tell. My story began in the rugged outdoors, where I developed a deep connection to the land and later became a gamekeeper, spending most of my career managing wildlife. But then the foot-and-mouth outbreak of 2001 forced me to change direction.

I was fixing my Land Rover by the harbour when an old fisherman came up to me and asked for some help on his boat. I ended up working all day on an old, stinking boat, collecting broken lobster pots for a grand total of £7! That day, a new chapter of my life began. By investing some of my own money in Caithness lobster creels, we started catching and selling lobsters, and that’s how the now-renowned East Neuk Seafoods was born.
